commit log saved even on commit error

I think the summary is pretty understainable, but I'll have a bit more description. It happens that my local copy is corrupted and uncleanable, so I fix it manually. It happened that I forgot to check it priori to commit, and I had already written a nice and fully documented commit log then clicked on commit. And dramatically, the commit failed ... Which leads to the lost of my wonderful commit log. From now on, I do not rely on the commit dialog, and write my commit log separately. (I will enter another ergonomy issue after this one about commit dialog). I've browsed the older entries and wasn't able to find one that described this problem.
