cannot set the svn:ignore property
The ignore patterns in the svn:ignore property must be each one in a different line, but when editing them in the properties grid there's no way to enter new lines. Everything is added in the same line where the edit begins, producing invalid (non operational) patterns.
The only workaround that I found es copy the preexisting ignore expression, edit it in a text editor adding lines as needed and then paste it again in the properties grid.

You may use the property editor instead (call it with ctrl-p). I saw that it isn't inside menues - so you may use the toolbox editor to integrate it into toolbars.
I'll try to find a way how to edit it inside the small property window.
